Astronaut appetites strain station supplies -- NASA drafting evacuation plan

CAPE CANAVERAL -- NASA is drafting a plan to evacuate the International
Space Station because the two-man crews are eating more than engineers
predicted, prompting a critical food shortage weeks earlier than expected.

I would suspect that no one in the ISS Program Office would actually
admit this is happening.

Actually, it is correct that they do have an evac plan set to go on Dec. 30
if the progress resupply fails in some way. ISS does currently have
something like a 30 day supply of food and they will return to ground if
they have to.

I do not know if it is due to the astronauts 'overeating' (news paper
reporter hype) or just the fact that the resupply is running late. I'm not
sure how much overeating can be going on if they all come back down weighing
less than when they go up.

Rumor has it too much food has been going to feed the zero G still, leaving
them short on rations.
