Another I'd forgotten about. The lum and red frames were OK but but
blue and green were a mess. Not sure why they were both out of focus
and poorly tracked. I never tried processing it because of that. But
now that I have a better handle on color I'm finding even a lousy color
shot doesn't hurt too much. I can pick out PEASE 1 on the Lum frame and
a hint of it on the red frame but the blue and green are too fuzzy and
smear their color too strongly diluting the red for it to show up as
pink in this shot. I'll have to try it again sometime. Also needs even
shorter exposures to pick that guy up as it is near the core when faint
stars drown it out in longer exposures. H-alpha for the lum and red
frame would help as well. Still, if I knew it would have come out this
well I'd have processed it long ago. Amazing what lousy weather will do
for digging back through "bad" images and getting some results.

Lots of faint fuzzies but I wasn't able to identify any of them other
than by catalog names that gave only their coordinates.

14" LX200R@f/10, L=10x2 minutes RGB=5x2 all binned 2x2, STL-11000M,

I go away for a few days and come home to find you have images of just
about everything in the sky! This one sure got a lot of the faint stars...
very nice.... Hope you get more clear nights.

Gotta do something with all those bowl games on TV. Sat with the laptop
keeping me warm and processed a lot of old stuff I'd passed on before.
As my processing skills have improved and I got CS for Christmas I can
now salvage those old ones -- well some of them.

You still digging out? My sister-in-Law lives near Loveland and is
still digging to find her car. We got a very little freezing rain and 3
snowflakes. The drought continues -- as do the clouds.

We got only 8" or so here in Colorado Springs... My visit to Nebraska was
something else... There was a two day ice storm that put over and inch of
ice on everything... power out for days... we were lucky that the temps
stayed around freezing so the motel room was a nice warm 60 deg. I did not
fill the gas tank so I had only 80 miles range to find gas on the way home
and had to go 60 miles before we found a station with power. Was glad to
get back!

Some 600 miles of power lines downed in western Nebraska I hear. Have
some family in the area. As of a couple days ago they were still on
generator power.

I've learned never to get below half a tank in winter and carry another
5 gallon can when traveling in winter. Along with blankets, shovel,
sand, candles candy bars (keep having to replace those for some reason)
and other gear. All for nothing up here this year. Glad you found gas
in time. It is a pretty lonely place out there in the sand hills.

Hey, at least you still have something that can be called "winter". Here in
Berlin we had almost 10 degrees Celsius yesterday and today it's a "cold" 5
degrees. The flowers on my rooftop terrace are still in blossom.
Unfortunately warm weather doesn't mean clear skies, only three nights of
imaging for me since September 25.

I hate ice storms! It's 'nature's worst'.

Eastern North America is the same. I've never seen such a warm winter, but
still lots of clouds. Instead of knee-deep snow here in New York we're
playing golf!! Unfortunately our astronomy is still pretty much 'books and
theory' thanks to the clouds.
