Default Digital composite of the solar eclipse 99

Hello,

though it's been quite a while since the solar eclipse on August 11th,
1999, I only recently created a digital composite of my slides.
On the composite, the coronal streamers come out beautifully. I applied
the techniques that were described in several (not so recent) articles
in Sky&Telescope on solar eclipse digital image processing. I was quite
stunned at how much detail I could get out of the slides, that are
included in my eclipse report on the 99 eclipse , which I had watched
from Lake Balaton in Hungary.

The picture and a step-by-step description of how I created it can be
found on my homepage:

I'm going to add a few pictures of Hale-Bopp in 1996, soon, and of the
lunar eclipse of last May. Don't throw away your old slides and
negatives! Digitize'em!
