In the dozen years since this has been front and center ,little or no progress has been made on the issue where the 26 mile spherical deviation of the Earth shares the same rotational mechanism as plate tectonics. Of course it is speculative but not without antecedents nor planetary comparisons however the impediment is productive research is certainly that academics would prefer to sit around and twiddle their thumbs rather than engage with differential rotation of the fluid interior of the Earth across latitudes which is not exempt from an observed feature displayed by all rotating celestial bodies in an exposed viscous state.

The elegant 'S' shape of the Mid Atlantic Ridge split at the Equator is one of the many clues scattered on the fractured surface crust sitting atop of a dynamic fluid which in itself forms a less than perfect sphere due to an uneven rotational gradient between Equator and Poles -

I well understand academic 'time' which morphs ideas in a slow and deliberate way that suits the working of academic institutions in the same way plate tectonics itself was absorbed while leaving its originator literally frozen out. As a Christian it doesn't make the slightest difference and it shouldn't for anyone who loves seeing something appear that makes sense -

"What hast thou that thou hast not received from God? and if thou hast received it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?" Paul

It is one of the sweetest sayings but who would know it ?.
