Default Transit of Venus from Nashville, TN

I operated a telescope in front of the Sudekum Planetarium from 4:00 PM
to 8:00 PM, on the 5th of June. I didn't get any transit images but I
did get a couple of crowd shots:

We missed first and second contacts because of clouds, but did get Venus
half-way across the limb of the Sun. The sky was exceptionally clear
and steady later in the afternoon.

Kris McCall, the planetarium director, said about 3,000 people showed
up. If this crowd has any predictive value the crowds for the 2017
total solar eclipse, also visible from this same spot, should be
overwhelming.

Excellent turnout!

Love the picture of the "last look".

Wonderful foresight to bring a ladder! :-)
