Astro stays in the south of England
Hi All
A couple of quick questions. Fieldview guest house, Norfolk & Astroadventures in Devon:- Are there other places like these in the south of England? and What are your thoughts on each? I'm leaning towards Fieldview as a whole chalet for one doesn't thrill me though for some reason I like the look of Devon more than Norfolk (not that I know either of them well if at all). Your thoughts & opinions please. Neil |

That's probably even more important than the ambient light pollution (though it sounds like neither location suffers too badly . My dark skies map shows Devon has darker patches than Norfolk, but only by 1/2 mag. or so) I found this out to my cost when I went to New Mexico: excellent dark skies, but only usable for two nights out of the five I was there. |

Thanks for the reply Pete.
I'm near Dumfries so am use to clouds. I've leaped in with both feet and decided on Norfolk who say they don't do astronomy this time of year as it doesn't get truly dark (so LP not really a problem). Oh well that's me all over, leaving it too late and just getting it wrong. Thanks again for the reply. Neil |
