Soyuz w/ Exp-10 Delayed "5-10 days" for "docking system problem"
Technical Hitch Delays Russia Space Station Launch
Wed Sep 15, 2004 04:50 AM ET MOSCOW (Reuters) - The launch of a Russian rocket scheduled to blast off to the International Space Station next month has been postponed because of problems with the docking system, Russia's space agency said on Wednesday. Russian rockets have been the sole link to the multinational space station since a U.S. space shuttle disintegrated on re-entry in February 2003 and NASA grounded its space fleet. The Soyuz spacecraft was scheduled to leave on October 9, taking a two-man replacement crew to the station. "We need to analyze this, and it will be postponed for five to 10 days. It is a problem with the docking system," a spokesman for the agency said. |
