Like most other nations [and institutions] the lower orders imitate the crooks poncing on top of the steaming midden. The only real difference between them is that the plebs are far more inept. And, only rarely defended by the ambulance chasing industry when they are caught red-handed. Usually with somebody else's pants around their ankles.
The basic rule of theft is to avoid such obvious encumbrances to flight. Or make more than enough from your criminality to afford, or borrow, a team of lawyers. Justice is as difficult to find today as it was in the caves. Loyalty to corruption is always so cheaply bought. The difference between a lawyer and a muscle-bound minder is only one of apparel. Both may wear wigs to work but the lawyer is trained to put it on the correct way round. Absolutely no disrespect intended to minders, of course. #;ø]
