You can't delete something posted to the newsgroups!
Your post got sent ot a whole bunch of different places which would make that job rather difficult in the first place and the second is that the philosopy of the newsgroups is that you don't delete a post. -- Why isn't there an Ozone Hole at the NORTH Pole? |

What's up here?
Just bring up our own post that you want to delete, click on "Options" and then on "Remove" and then confirm. Bye bye post. :-) It's not rocket science. ;-) Chris.B |

[clip] Bob: The original poster only may delete his/her own posts. Members who post their own replies may only delete their own replies. Those who cross post must open their own posts at the other Usenet newsgroups and delete from that news group. Mirror sites may not automatically respond and make a deletion that corresponds to the deletion of the original Usenet news group message. Google is a mirror site that carries and archives the content from Usenet news groups. I don't know their current practice on deletions. You must act within a certain specified time to delete (a matter of hours), and deletions are not possible after that. Simply select your post and hit delete in either of several ways. Accept the command as required on two or so panels, and the post will disappear from the display. Ralph Hertle |

That "might" work to delete it from=20 your own news server but i doubt that even works since by then=20 your post has been sent to hundreds/thousands of other news servers. This also comes up on Yahoo groups where someone will delete a post from the Yahoo site. Problem is that anyone that subscribes to the=20 group via email already has the post in their inbox and nothing you do on the group site can retract an emailed message. -Florian |

It is best to behave as if delete never works and be sure you want the whole world to read your article. |
