Default Tile Patch Idea (Post RCC Test)

"Sal Bruno" What about a semi-rigid lattice of RCC material .

Now you've got me wondering what an RCC patch kit would consist of. The first
idea that comes to mind is a simple patch. Just glue a preformed piece of RCC
panel over the hole. Since each panel is unique, the patch would have to be
customized or flexible enough to conform to the particular panel.

Adm Gehman said something the other day that gave NASA some wiggle room.....that
the patch design need not be bigger than the expected damage. If NASA can
reduce the foam shedding to the popcorn variety, then he is ok with nasa
providing a patch for a one inch hole....approximately.

Then there is the tile patch kit. Both kits present some design challenges ie
the insulating tiles are each unique. And siclica foam does not come out of an
aerosol can.

Good to see someone thinking out of the box.
