Judging by all the whelts on his arse, Bruce, either the doors hate him

Sap-sukkin' gooseling.

What does that have to do with astronomy, fanboi?

Wouldya *please* quit top-posting, stud?

All it does is make the threads you post in that much
harder to follow. It makes *your* posts that much harder
to read. So most people won't read them. They'll just skip
over you and not read what you wrote. This is the first of
your posts i've read in a long time. And here you are still
top-posting. Please read up on why top-posting is unliked
and how top-posting posts are almost always ignored by
other readers.

Saul? don't you want to be widely read?

Then *please* stop top-posting!
All you need to do is CTRL-END to get to the bottom of
the post you're responding to. How hard is that?

C'mon, Saul... i'm thinking you have lots to say about
astronomy. But people who don't like top-posting (that's
most readers) won't ever know it until you start bottom-
posting your responses.

Thank you, Saul.

How the crusade going for you, fanboi? Your white horse looks like it
could stand a couple weeks of R&R and grooming.

Thanks for asking, MG. And i'll have a talk with the groom,
if necessary.

The crusade will hopefully end with this thread. This may
be the last time we communicate directly, Deco. Because
this is...

* The Post *

This is the post for you to respond to with your decision.

You once wrote that i'm powerless. Maybe you're right.
Frankly, i haven't spent any time looking into what all my
options are, if any. I've been hoping i wouldn't have to.
I've been hoping that you and your gooselings would do
the right ting.

I *have* noticed fewer BS posts here in the last couple of
days. Thank you and the little waddlers for that! I would
still like to hear it from you, though. I'd like to hear what
choice you make. Are you going to stay? and learn and
teach about astronomy? or are you and your pals going to
leave alt.astronomy alone for a few millennia. Of course,
all your gooselings from the two other newsgroups we've
xposted to are welcome to stay or leave as well, as they
wish, after making the same choice for themselves.

Frankly i don't care which ya'll choose, as long as the
quasi-email bombing stops. That's what it resembles to
me... it's UseNet newsgroup bombing. And i don't have
this HUGE MOUNTAIN of TIME to deal with it. When
i leave for a few days, or a week, or two weeks, and i'm
out there working my buns off for you and lots of people
just like you, and then i come home for some leisure time,
i don't expect to have to wade through hundreds, even
thousands of BS posts to get to the meat and potatoes
astronomy articles.

Can't you and the waddlers see how what you're doing is
wrong? Maybe it seems right to you to come into a group
and disrupt it like you do. But it's *not* right for me.

So i'm willing, if necessary, to find out just how "powerless"
i really am. This isn't the old UseNet, though, and i'm sure
you must be aware of this. This is a different UseNet from
the old days. Back then, you get somebody kicked off
their ISP and big deal, right? They just get another ISP
and there they are back again starting their **** again. Now
*that's* powerless.

Here in the 21st-century UseNet, things are less lawless.
I'm thinking right now of the Hitchcock case. Remember
that one? It may be before your time, but i doubt it. Of
course, that one was all about stalkers and stalking. And
that's not really what you do, is it. I'm sure that i couldn't
make a case against you for stalking, although i have to
tell you... i consider what you and your pals have done to
alt.astronomy to be just as bad as stalking. And last i
heard, the Hitchcock stalkers are presently doing jail time.

I don't know... maybe if i look hard enough, i can find a
judge somewhere who agrees with me? Maybe not.

Now i'm thinking about all those other test cases that are
going on out there right this minute. Most of these seem
to be about spam, spammers and spamming, i guess. I
don't really know because i haven't checked into it lately.
Here again, i consider what you and your gooselings have
done to my favorite newsgroup, alt.astronomy, to be far
worse than any idiot spammer who has "graced" this
newsgroup with their occasional spam posts, FAR worse!
Maybe i can find a judge who agrees with this. I don't
know.

I really don't want to get into this with you, Deco, sincerely.
I would *so* much rather you and your pals do the right
ting. I'm not asking anything difficult, and i'm not asking you
to do anything unwise. All i'm asking is for you to choose
either to stay on in alt.astronomy as a science poster, or just
leave alt.astronomy alone altogether.

Now, if you respond to *this post* without including what
your choice is, then i will assume the worst... that you want
to fight it out. Or, if you don't respond to this post at all
within a reasonable amount of time, say two days, then i
guess i'll give you another day. That's three days for you to
make your choice. If you haven't answered me by then, i
shall have to conclude that you have no intention of doing
the right ting, and i will proceed to see what my options are.
Like i said, i really don't want to get into a fight with you
and your gooselings, but to get my favorite newsgroup
back without all the BS posts to sift through, i will definitely
check to see what i can and cannot do.

I'd *much* rather that you please do the right ting on your
own without any other action to be taken by me.

Hey Paine
Your efforts at resuscitating the NG are commendable.
But it certainly appears the NG is for all practical purpose, DEAD. The
corpse has begun to liquify, and about all one can see anymore is the
swarming mass of maggots feasting on it.
To make supplication to one of those maggots to "do
the right thing" is admirable but pretty naive thinking IMHO. They're
simply doin' what maggots do.

The NG's sun has set in the manner of Ecclesiastes' "a time to live, a
time to die" (though i would love to be proven wrong on this).
