Yup, it is derogatory. Seldom used in polite company, seldom used even in
no-so-polite company such as movies.

No kidding! In case there's a difference in the literal meaning from
place to place, where I live, it is a synonym for the female pudenda,
although it's not nearly as crude as the other word for that.
