Default What Do You Do?

Alt.astronomy is dead -- LONG LIVE ALT.ASTRONOMY

-----------------------------------------------

Under a very dark sky, filled with an overwhelming number of
little dots of light, a leopard lounges while watching a huge tree.
The big cat patiently takes time to clean itself. Perched upwind
on a shallow, overhanging crag, leopard licks its sharp fangs to
think of tasty dinner to follow.

The baobab tree is filled with a troop of baboons, who use the
tree as their nightly resting place. No rest for the monkeys this
night, however, because they all smell the leopard, and they all
know that death awaits... somebody. Noisy little baobab tree!

Just days before, a new leader was "elected" named Tonk. His
second he chose was Piper, and third on the pole became the
old leader, truly old Kince. Kince had stepped down because
Tonk had taken him in a fair fight. So amongst all the noise of
fearful babboonery, Tonk looked to Kince for counsel. The
solution was clear, and the only solution. The death cat must be
killed.

So the overwhelming sky spys two dark figures, Tonk and Piper,
silently working their way unseen, up the crag toward unseeing
death. Their attack is quick! and brutal. Piper had worked
her way up the low angle behind the leopard. Tonk had very
carefully crept up the steep part just below the cat's head.

When Piper is certain Tonk is in position, she leaps to the
leopard's spotted back and digs in her canines. Immediately,
the cat whirls around to grab Piper by the head and crunch
her skull. In an instant, Tonk is at the leopard's neck and
severing her jugular vein. A blink of an eye! and the cat comes
back around and *up* with her hind feet and claws to painly
disembowel the baboon king.

But she is too late, for Tonk's bite had been right on the mark.
The three shadowy figures sprawl dead or dying on the crag.
And a noisy baobab tree once again sleeps in peace.

Would you die for what you believe in? would you kill for it?

-----------------------------------------------

happy days and...
starry starry nights!

Try harder, John! and even if you *can't* see the connection
(now *that's* a surprise, innit), i also said in another post...

"I don't mind the occasional off-topic octopus post, or model
airplane post, or even the infrequent kook-chaser post. What
is wrong... is when the newsgroup is bombed by over 90%
bull**** posts . . ."

So go ahead, Zinni Machini, talk about your acne if you want.
(or was that OG?) Just please don't draw all the kooks over
