Default Goodbye.

(P. Edward Murray) wrote in message . com...
For much of my life I've been an Amateur Astronomer, past president of
a Astronomical 501 (c) Non profit,sometime politician and currently a
technician at a large multinational corporate call center.

During the last several years I've posted frequently to this group
able sometimes to point a budding amateur in the right direction.

Although at times I've enjoyed hearing from many of you when you see a
beautiful Aurora Borealis, I've been saddened by seeing so many of
these folks who we call trolls spread their nonsense whether it be the
latest theory of why planets orbit the sun or letting us know (as if
we don't know) when the next New Moon is.

I was also saddened 4 years ago to not see more folks here at least
talk about
supporting Vice President Al Gore for President of the United States.

Someone who I would call a fellow Amateur Astronomer.

Perhaps, just perhaps, few of us here who are Americans really believe
in
Astronomy. Or at least we see it from a far different perspective.

This November we will have another chance to vote for a candidate who
believes
that Astronomy is worth doing, someone who will not let the Hubble
Space Telescope fall.

I hope that you will vote for that candidate.

At any rate, as others have done before, I'm saying goodbye and I wish
for all of you Clear Skies.

P. Edward Murray

Awwwwww. No one wanted to vote for the tree-hugger, if only you'd all known
he was an AMATEUR ASTRONOMER, then, you could have dispensed with any other
considerations and voted him in. I'm SURE the combined votes of all amateurs
would have won Gore the Whitehouse!!!! Then, you could have preened in front
of the mirror, luxuriating in the fact YOU carried the election.

What "right"? Buy a ticket and see it if you like propaganda. Leni
Riefenstahl was more subtle (and talented).

I think there's about 25 sites per loop, two loops, $10 per site, $500. =
Worth it to have peace and quiet and no Coleman lanters. ;-)

How true .. but I imagine you did not have to pay it. Cottonwood is a
bit on the warm side for daytime camping this time of year. I've only
been there (to hike to Lost Palm Oasis) in Feb and Oct.
