Of course Shawn has no family, at least no family that admits it....

That isn't very nice. In fact I cried.

I have to admit, that's pretty funny.

Clay,

Yes, of course! Most Star Watches (public events) are put on by
Astronomy Clubs in hopes that we can show the beauty of the night sky
to anyone and everyone who wishes to see. As my friend Fred Schaaf
likes to say that "not one child in ten" has really seen the stars.
There was a time not so long ago that folks just got into the country
and could see a totally starry sky. One friend of mine told me that
during his "Eclipse Trip" to Africa a few years ago
he saw The Milky Way...in all it's glory, casting shadows through the
trees.

That's why we do these events and we hope that we can turn others onto
that beauty!

Confidentially, I wouldn't worry about sex, except that clubs are
mostly made up of guys and some of us are not married and hoping that
at some event we might find a young lady (our age) similarly
unattached and interested in the stars just like us.

Nothing to worry about!

P.S. You won't be liked very much if you let your kids run around
nuts, bumping into Telescopes and putting thumbprints on
eyepieces....you might not be invited back or be asked in a very kind
way to settle down those kids!
