That kind of ends my interest right there. Anyone who actually spends the
time reading his posts *and* actually quoting them isn't worth the effort
needed for a response. I'm surprised I even spent as much time as I have
on this thread as that guy has clearly watched one star trek episode too
many.

Have a good thanksgiving.

I agree that many people have been killed because they misunderstand
Tsunamis, so I'll stand corrected on the point you make.

BTW, I probably would have been in trouble in Aceh some years ago had
I been there. Honestly speaking, my first instinct probably would have
been to grab the cameras and start filming.

I wonder how many died because their first instinct was to record it,
rather than not actually realising what was going on, and heading for
high ground first.

If you're interested, I strongly recommend getting hold of the book
"Tsunami!" by Dudley and Lee. It's a very good read and although it was
published well before the recent Indian Ocean tsunami, it has some
excellent examples of destructive tsunami, plus a bit of history about the
warning centres and also dispells a few myths. Definitely worth the money.

I'm on it. I'll be off to Dymocks (local bookstore that can get just
about anything) tomorrow anyway, so I'll ask.
