Joy is something you have not known, after all, nothing more wonderful than to experience dawn as the Sun comes into view or the sense of accomplishment as it disappears from view at twilight. Hell is that joyless pretense, in this case the attempt to bypass the appearance of the Sun followed by the stars (day/night cycle) , an attach significance to a rotating celestial sphere.

The polar sunrise is precious as it should awaken a sense of recognition that dual rotations are occurring with the temperature rising and falling daily in response to the diurnal surface rotation and the annual temperature fluctuation in response to the rotation as a function of the Earth's orbital motion.

Heaven is here all the time when people let it in as it comes from the heart of things and it makes all the intellectual pretense look oh so foolish. People already know that the slow twilight comprising the polar day/night cycle is due to a surface rotation with the polar points turning parallel to the orbital plane and so do you.

If oriel is experiencing his own personal hell - what legitimate
cause could you possibly claim to have for adding to his state of misery?

does it really matter, in the greater shceme of things if he never understands?

If you leave him alone, will the Sun cease to rise, or the stars fail to continue

People nowadays wake up to dual surface rotations and dual day/night cycles with their own characteristics of twilight and dawn.

It is not meant for people who can't enjoy what is in front of them and for people are comfortable and confident people who can appreciate a sunrise for what it is.

Exactly so. These guys are not harming anyone. What difference does it
make what they believe (if they believe what they write)? Why should
anyone care what they say or believe? Why are some people here so
obsessed with setting them straight on celestial mechanics? IOW, why be
argumentative? Being an ordinary American, I hear people around me
saying all sorts of weird things all the time. Religion, politics,
science denial, astrology, you-name it. I don't confront these people
with the "truth" (as I understand it, which might not be the truth at
all); I just step away and leave them to talk themselves.

Besides, I started this thread to ask a legitimate amateur-astronomy
question about a matter that I did not understand and the nut cases and
the pedants hijacked it. Thanks to Roland and to Chris Peterson for
sticking to the subject and helping me understand what I needed to

Old men with stock phrases and a bad indoctrination can hardly compete with these great astronomical observations and the dynamics behind their cause.

All I see as screams of intellectual death but the observation will always be there for those who genuinely take the time out to recognize a sunrise for what it is and then transfer it to the polar latitudes at the Equinox where a separate dawn and twilight exist.
