It should be noted that it was the military who is responsible for
making the Space Shuttle design to look like it is now.

I just spent about an hour looking and couldn't find any more about
this, although I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Air&Space included
a copy of the poster, as I recall.


It was in the April/May 1991 issue of Air and Space. The models
themselves are on display in a glass case at the Garber restoration
facility, or at least they used to be. I think that this is the same
project that the DC area IPMS chapters was involved in as mentioned in
another posting in this thread.
