Default Eyes on the solar system

The people in the space agency still insist in assigning a 23 hour 56 minute 04 second rotation period for the Earth in direct conflict with the principles which tie the 24 hour system to the Lat/Long system and from there to the external references which determine planetary dynamics and planetary traits -

http://eyes.nasa.gov/download.html

There is literally no responsibility or accountability among academics for something as truly awful as the conclusion which uses timekeeping averages and a rotating celestial sphere to force through the conclusion of constant rotation.

Have none of you enough sense to know that even if the focus is on star trails that a celestial sphere is split into hemispherical components ? -

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140620.html

The tendency now is simply to put the information out there and hope the proper principles gain traction by virtue that average and constant share the same meaning when applying the correlation between the average 24 hour day and constant rotation at a rate of 15 degrees per hour, that the number of noon cycles within four annual circuits keep rotations pinned to the orbital circumference to the nearest rotation and prohibit the awful attempt to bypass the calendar framework by taking a conceptual short cut to circumpolar motion.

Stargazers are not harmless and unthinking people trapped inside a celestial sphere creation, they are out there pushing their convictions within the classrooms of schools and colleges without the slightest apology. To see the JPL website push the 23.93 hours is dismaying insofar as long as they do this they are not explaining what the purpose February 29th as both a 24 hour day, rotation and orbital distance traveled by the Earth serves in linking timekeeping with planetary dynamics and more importantly, how rotations mesh with the orbital cycle of the Earth.

This is a tragedy that can be undone but again, academics seem to lack the courage and responsibility to enact the necessary changes. They talk about 'Earth hour' but seem to lack the appreciation that each hour is imprinted on the geometry and geography of the planet via the Lat/Long system which traces out the rotational characteristics of the Earth -

http://www.thestargarden.co.uk/images/fig8-2.jpg

It is not possible for society to continue in any meaningful way without the true explanation behind timekeeping and where it meshes with planetary dynamics or obversely, having observers trapped inside an imaginary celestial sphere universe.

Readers should never interact with the Gerald Kelleher troll. You will be wasting your own time and, more importantly, you will be encouraging Gerald to continue in his self-harming activities.

Gerald, because of the severe and life-long condition from which he suffers, is unable to accept anything that differs from his own unique view of the world. Getting him to change his mind is simply not possible nor is getting him to respond to questions.

Equally important is that many regulars remain totally unconvinced that Gerald really believes some of the voodoo he keeps chanting out. Some of his favourite topics from the past have been quietly dropped from his menu and this probably reflects the fact that he has finally realised that on that particular issue he was 100% wrong?

The way he endlessly repeats variations of the same anti-social behaviour is just a symptom of his serious illness. He quite literally cannot stop himself from posting - it has pretty much become his "life". It is hard to find any evidence that he has an existence outside his handful of trivial obsessions.

Credit where it is due, the excellent graphics in the space agency's website surpass the explanations attached to them -

"Earth is the third planet from the sun and the fifth largest in the solar system. Earth's diameter is just a few hundred kilometers larger than that of Venus. The four seasons are a result of Earth's axis of rotation being tilted 23.45 degrees with respect to the plane of Earth's orbit around the sun. During part of the year, the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun and the southern hemisphere is tilted away, producing summer in the north and winter in the south. Six months later, the situation is reversed." JPL

There are several different issues involved which obliterates the 'tilted towards and away from the Sun' notion and replaces it with a more productive one. Seen from a fully illuminated face from the orbital plane of the Earth, the North and South poles are seen to turn parallel to that plane hence an alternative set of ecliptic latitudes where the poles lie along a parallel 66 1/2 degrees North and South of the orbital plane.

https://www.ssec.wisc.edu/planetary/...e/science3.jpg

Uranus doesn't 'tilt' towards and away from the Sun and neither does the Earth, the entire planet has a surface rotation arising from the planet's orbital motion alone that carries the polar points around in a circle .

This is not a fight to the death as these things will exist whether people choose to consider them or not but certainly the explanations do not match the graphics nor the actual imaging of the planets and especially ours.

As a Christian the responsibility is to the spirit which makes all things clear and enjoyable so this dreary opposition only tells people where they stand in themselves.

"It's the Spirit who gives life; the flesh accomplishes nothing. The words that I've spoken to you are spirit and life." Jesus

So it is with appreciating astronomy and terrestrial sciences.

How true the words of your bard -

"The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!"

Nothing can be done with mediocrity for although people with convictions, even strong convictions, can discover productive/creative avenues in themselves and go on to develop them, the lifeless creatures who would do to Christian writings what they have done to astronomy would diminish all life as they have done to themselves.

Astronomy is a vibrant and expansive adventure which does not permit the self-centered and the pretentious and this is what the words of Jesus addresses -

"Anyone who loves their life in this world will lose it" Jesus

The beginning and end of astronomy is that each time the Sun rises and sets within a 24 hour period that one rotation is behind it for those who imagine otherwise, like yourself, must truly hate all life but love your own.

"I was standing by when Jesus died;
What I call'd humility, they call'd pride.
He who loves his enemies betrays his friends.
This surely is not what Jesus intends "
William Blake

I see you couldn't bear to have the other cretin speak for you so there is hope for you yet.

If you try very hard you may be able to improve your understanding up to
the level of mediocrity but so far you are failing dismally.

Astronomy is a vibrant and expansive adventure which does not permit the
self-centered and the pretentious and this is what the words of Jesus addresses -

This is not very profound since everybody will lose their life eventually
whether they love it or not.

The beginning and end of astronomy is that each time the Sun rises and
sets within a 24 hour period that one rotation is behind it for those who
imagine otherwise, like yourself, must truly hate all life but love your own.

That just shows how much you have to understand to bring your level of
comprehension up to the mediocre.

The solar day is 24 hours long, and so time zones are 15 degrees wide.

No conflict at all - the physical rotation period of the Earth being different,
because the Earth orbits the Sun, doesn't contradict the fact that the length
of the day, which is so important a cycle, relates to the Sun and not the stars.

Calling me a 'liar' doesn't work no more than all the other insults and more importantly this week where the human spirit is celebrated -

"I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have not turned my face away from insult and spitting. The Lord comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my face like flint and know that I shall not be put to shame." Isaiah

Attached to the sacred week of Christians is an astronomical component where it was noticed that the planet doesn't turn exactly 1461 times over four annual circuits but that using full days there is a slight drift in the position of the stars known as the precession of the Equinoxes. When the drift went past 7 days the effect became pronounced enough that Easter drifted hugely towards the Solstice as Good Friday is based on the predicted date on the first Friday after the full moon beyond the March Equinox. They only noticed the drift but I have explained it in terms of the proper references and where it ties in with human timekeeping and more importantly, planetary cyclical dynamics.

I celebrate what you cannot insofar as all the components are in place to explain how the average 24 hour day substitutes for constant rotation as weighed against each other - the terms 'average' and 'constant' are interchangeable being one of the nuances that are visible via the Lat/long system.

You have to love yourself so much that you are prepared to hate astronomy at its most immediate as the Sun arcs from horizon to horizon within each 24 hour day and the stars come into view with each rotation.

Now do you understand the Christian saying ? -

"He who loves his life loses it " Jesus

When you find yourselves loving your own pretense thereby excluding the spectacle of creation you will miss out on the Universal existence that encompasses our journey through this world from birth to death. We preserve the Eternal life in us by that spirit which rejects what is false and accepts what is vibrant, productive, creative and all those other things which elevate human existence instead of trying to diminish human existence by trying to insult me.

Given half a chance people will be drawn to the great astronomical events that go on constantly outside the confining celestial sphere monstrosity which limits you to 'stargazing' as a nighttime exercise. It is in the poetry of human existence that spiritual people are shut out from the vibrancy that runs through creation because of the obscuring effects of empirical bluffing and voodoo but the sense of winder and curiosity has always been there -

http://biblehub.com/niv/job/38.htm

This week must be difficult for the empiricists who lack the spirit to be astronomers or put the life of Christ in context of human greatness.
