![]() a massive, glass bottomed observation deck. Wouldn't the glass get all scatched up after a few months of people walking on it? Seems like after a few monthsit would become just a translucent floor. Well I'm sure minds greater than mine have it all figured out! P.S. I'd love to meet Buzz! |

A radio broadcast mentioned that each visitor will be required to put on a pair of special non-scratch "booties" that will not mar the glass walkway. Rusty |

![]() "robert casey" wrote in message k.net... I'd do it in a NY minute. But not sure I'll pay $20 for it (which was the price I heard.) $25 Ah, I had originally heard $20 which stood out in my brain. Yeah... $25 is even worse. (now if they really want to do something interesting, a 4000' elevator to the Tonto plateau would be something.) A little pricey for me too. And after say 20 minutes, been there, done that... A little like that small town in India that has an ancient temple of pornography, Kagalarara(sp) IIRC. A temple built to honor the Indian sex god or such. Many graphic images of people doing it. Okay, but maybe good for 20 minutes, and there's nothing else in that town... -- Greg Moore SQL Server DBA Consulting Email: sql (at) greenms.com http://www.greenms.com |

Bravo to the tribe for giving ecotourism a try! Yeah, I saw there's some controversy about this. Geesh.. it's a small horseshoe in a huge canyon. I just don't get the outcry. ... Pure irrational acrophobia. Interesting. I've always found phobias interesting. Had a friend who had a phobia about sharks swimming up out of her toilet bowl, despite knowing for a fact it was impossible. I love flying, but I hate being in tall buildings. I even get woozy looking up at them from the base. I also enjoy climbing mountains, but hang a man-made structure over the edge of a cliff? No. Way. I'm not really cut out for spaceflight, at least the way they did it in the sixties. Ignoring the fact that I'm probably too claustrophobic to get into a Mercury, or even Apollo (though I might have managed that) capsule, I'm not sure I'd have made it across the bridge. But if we get space transports, with roomy (and yes, ISS would be good enough, and a Bigelow inflatable would be great) habitats, I'd have no problem, any more than I do with flying in airplanes (i.e., none at all, and in fact the smaller the better, within limits, as long as I have lots of window). Interesting how certain things trigger it and others don't. -- Greg Moore SQL Server DBA Consulting Email: sql (at) greenms.com http://www.greenms.com |
