I hate that tiny little ring of smoke ...

These days it's believed to be more of a
little cylinder of plasma.

Good ISP for you, Mike: Yahoo. The photo of "ring of smoke" you linked
to was not the one being discussed: Pretty Lame :-)

How dare you demean the Ring Thing, the Great Cosmic Cheerio, the
Tire in the Lyre, the Diaphanous Donut, the Holey Smoke, the
Luminiferous Lifesaver, the Heavenly Halo, the Beauteous Bagel o'
the Night! Blasphemers such as you deserve nothing better than
M40.

Beauteous Bagel o' the Night!
Weren't a Bloom County fan by any chance?

Does it matter? And what off comment is this about an ISP? Do you usually
take note of ISP's?

Now you have me intrigued! I wasn't aware that EdScorp produced long
focus refractors in anything larger than 3" ... then I googled and
found this beauty.

Do you know if that was something they produced in Barrington? Was it a
rebranded Jaegers or Japanese scope?

Of course. When you call someone else a "lame brain", best not be
standing on quicksand yourself.

Wow! That is one long tube. I wonder if the Japanese were making
scopes for US distribution back in 1968. No memory, one way or the other.

I have no idea, either, but I do believe and (somewhat) recall Edmund
offering those 4" refractors in the late 50's/early 60's.
