You need something with high velocity and full wadcutter configuration.
Sone of the old .460 Weatherby rounds with the faces milled flat.

Collisions are governed by momentum. I'll take my several kilos at
several hundred meters per second, should do some serious damage...

Just a note... I have a couple of old RV-6's and a 1978 Meade 12.5
inch RG Newt. Open tubes but the coating still are quite good. But I
also agree, keeping the covered is a big help in protecting them.

has ever been a truss rube SCT or Mak designes and or built. If so what
were the results?

The 60-inch and 100-inch on Mt. Wilson often run in cassegrain
configuration, and they're open tube.

A highly
filtered fan
(like the one on the Meade 7" Mak) is a good idea.

What sort of filter material does this telescope use? Is it replaceable and
what is the smallest particle size the filter media captures? What type of
fan?

I don't know what it uses, but something like very finely divided
would be the only good solution because you don't want any particulate
matter coming into the OTA if you can avoid it.
