Brian We have a theory by Andre linde his ideas developed a "new
inflationary universe". Lots of his ideas fit in with Guth's but
Linde theory answered more questions. Linde's theory told us inflation
was due to the universe being chaotic, and at the very beginning need not
have been very hot. You see Brian reality is no one could explain what
caused it to be so hot.Linde theory took away the assumption of a hot
pre-inflationary universe. If he said it in this group he would be
"flamed to death" Linde used "fields"(random fields in space to create
the chaotic space conditions) Fields associated with all Quantum
particles, that fill all of space even before the BB Gravity field
associated with mass. Fields associated with forces that hold nuclei
together ,and the list goes on. With Linde's great thinking I can fit
in my concave, convex theory for gravity attraction and universe
repulsion. when I'm ask now what is curving space ,I now can answer
"fields" It all fits Bert

Hi Vos,
I'm glad to see you use the term "center of the universe" as I
believe also, that there is a definite center. However, your scenario
of the galaxies collapsing into the center defies observational
evidence. While the galaxies lined up from near to far away from the
center linerally could exhibit isotropic red shifts (except for one
thing that I'll get to next), as they neared the center, galaxies
sideways to them would be getting closer together and would exhibit
BLUE shifts! Also, Hubble deep field observations show galaxies
receding from us at up to 12 times light speed. Superluminal galaxies
further away from the center in the collapse than ourselves would be
unobservable by us as we would be outrunning radiation from them.
So the opposite scenario exists and Ia supernovae rise time
observational evidence proves conclusively that the universe is
expanding. Further, since there has to be a definite center, the milky
way galaxy and local group have to be at said center. Otherwise, as
stated earlier, we would not be able to observe superluminal galaxies
in all directions.
This theory and earlier versions have been copyrighted by me since
1990, all rights reserved. Regards, Dwain W. Higginbotham

The universe is expanding at an accelerating rate.
This is evidence of one universe with a begining and
an infinite future.

The universe isn't infinite.
There are no infinite quantities or sizes.
Only the future is infinite.

Time never ends; not even in black holes.
