While conceptually you are correct, that was the purpose of the SMTP
protocol; in practice (mostly due to spam), many ISPs deny SMTP relaying.
So while you can usually receive e-mail anywhere, you often cannot send e-
mail from anywhere.

P.S. Although he does perform a great service, I'm not sure Herb has quite
achieved "god" status.

That person was (is) me, and it was not my intention that he use his
friend's e-mail address, but if that friend's ISP allows multiple
e-mail addresses (as most do nowadays) that the friend set up one of
the "extras" for the AM user's own use, which would be fully
traceable, etc.



Eh? How's that again?
