Default CCD with a Dob?

Would it be possible to take a 15 second exposure with a CCD and
some software that automatically stacks...with a Dob? My question
obviously has to do with the speed of the earths rotation. I'm going
nuts trying to figure out what kind of scope to get. You guys keep
talking me out of stuff:-) I hear you cannot go wrong with an Orion
8 or 10 XT. I have virtually no background in telescopes, so this seems
to be the big recommendation. It would be nice to snap a picture or two.
Thx, -Tom
