And let us not forget "nocturnal flying mammal!" g And let us not forget the reason why the "Batman" movies failed in the Nordic countries and German-speaking countries. I mean, just how intimidated are *you* gonna be if someone confronts you and announces that he is called "Fluttering Mouse Man!"...? (That's the literal translation of "Fliedermaus.") Doug nightbat Ha, ha, ha, and yes, what a rip, the Nobel Prize Committee takes honor and pleasure of awarding science distinguished medal in physics for singularity resolution to the most humble and respective fellow, Fliedermaus, ok. That's a unique one for the list, and ha, ha, the laughter and joy would never stop even after the ceremonies. Thanks Doug, the nightbat |

Recently Doug... honored sci.astro with:
"Fluttering Mouse Man!"...? (That's the literal translation of "Fliedermaus.") Well I don't know what the hell a Fliedermaus is, but no serious attempt at a literal translation of Fledermaus would yield "Fluttering Mouse Man." Here's a clue: "fleder" has no contemporary use in German, so you'll have to search elsewhere for the derivative root. |
