Default Moon on Fuji Provia 400f

Don Westergren has test data on his Web site:

It appears to be the best unhypered film for astrophotography currently
available

Thanks -- that's very useful data. I'll study the Provia 400F data sheet.
It looks like a very useful material.

PROVIA 400F looks like a GREAT PRODUCT. Because the data sheets on Fuji's
USA site are out of date, I had not seen the data yet. It is a big
improvement over Provia 400 without the F.

What's more SENSIA II 400 (much more widely available) is closely
comparable.

Found the data sheet in English at:

http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/technical/...20AF3-066E.PDF

(not in the USA).

Some further comparisons based on mfrs' data sheets:

Fuji Provia 400F (RHP III)
Red response (656 nm) Good
RMS granularity 13
Reciprocity 1 stop at 3 minutes

Fuji Provia 400 not F
Red response (656 nm) Less than Provia 400F
RMS granularity 15
Reciprocity 1 stop at 16 seconds

Fuji Sensia II 400 = Provia 400F

Kodak Ektachrome E200
Red response (656 nm) Very strong
RMS granularity 12
Reciprocity "No compensation" at 10 seconds

Kodak Elite Chrome 200 = E200

Kodak Ektachrome E100G
Red response (656 nm) Very strong
RMS granularity 8
Reciprocity Only a filter at 2 minutes

Fuji Provia 100F (RDP III)
Red response (656 nm) Good
RMS granularity 8
Reciprocity 1/3 stop at 4 minutes

Fuji Sensia II 100 is NOT the same as Provia 100F.

It looks like the 2 that stand out as winners are Provia 400F and Ektachrome
E100G. Elite Chrome 200 is no longer king of the hill. However, Elite
Chrome 200 has somewhat lower contrast than the others, which may be an
advantage in wide-dynamic-range situations.
