I don't know if the numbers are right, but as I understand it the size
of the universe is not a question of objects moving in space, but of
space itself expanding.

Consider one of those ballon analogies: if space is the surface of the
ballon, then things can't move on it faster than the speed of light,
but if the ballon itself is inflated the distance between things
will increase without their moving.

Of course, understanding the analogy doesn't amount to understanding
the real thing.
