Default Introducing myself

From Jud:
So, Jud, I've been wondering about the reasons for your identification
with / affinity for vacuum tubes. You did say that you were into
several things. Perhaps electric guitar?

I'm getting way off topic here, my apologies to everyone.

Solid State from Vacuum Tubes is very on topic to space history. Here
is one of many interesting articles on the topic:

As for the electric guitar connection, just ask any member of MaxQ!

Yes, electric guitar (30+ years ago). It was clear then how much
better a tube amp sounded than solid state. Then at least. Now they
say SS can emulate the sound of tubes. I have 2 tube and one solid
state guitar amp. For that reason, I also got tube audio equipment -
however, I'm not sure how much difference it makes in audio equipment,
since it isn't overdriven. There I think the difference is very small
at best, and maybe not something you can detect at all. (I haven't
done any good comparisons, though.)

I don't buy the hard core audiophile argument either. Some day all
amps will be Class D. Ha!
