Default Fed up with NEW SCOPE ARRIVES posts! - longish...

Ok, I took a few breaths and will respond to your diatribe...

so you bought a Hummer to fool people?

No, can't afford one...

oh yea what's wrong with ridding the bus to work?

No, never said that, it's just using technology (I was trying to make a
point, which apparently didn't work)

Usually your types leave the hobby after figuring out no one gives a rats

ass how much money you have to spend and after
you figured out it isn't a way to pick up chicks when you're away from the

wife and kids.
Actually, although I am involved w/an astronomy group here, I most of my
viewing from the backyard (I live in a fairly dark site)
BTW - I absolutely adore my wife and kids so the "pick up chicks" thing
won't work.

Yea I've seen your types at work, you come and you go, but the story is the

same.
That's a bit odd - a little self-introspection might be in order here - you
really can't mean to say that you are so omnipotent as to really know my
type from 1 simple posting!

By the way if your idea of a radical monster scope is a Celestron 9.25 sct

then you are like a total moron.
But then you drive a Hummer.....

Again, I can't afford a Hummer - too expensive. And, although I'm not a
total moron, you are right - I should have used the word GOTO instead of
monster.

I know trying to keep a bit on the side and your long suffering wife happy

is a job but why
do the rest of us at the starparty have to listen to your lies? See I have
you pegged my man. Your Hummer may have a wide tarck but your minds as
narrow as they come!

Again, not sure where this is from...
1. Totally love my wife and tell her every day - not sure why it matters
here though - do you cheat on your wife?
2. Never been to a star party
3. Since I've never been to a star party, you can never have heard me lie
(although, in all my 40+ yrs I'm sure I have at least a couple times)
4. Again, don't have a Hummer...
5. No, my man (people still talk like that?) - you seriously do not have me
pegged. And quite honestly, even though you come off a bit insane, I don't
really know you either (I'm sure we are both happy with this)

Honesty isn't a problem for George Bush or Rush Limbo why should you bother

with something your heros don't practice?
Where does this come from? - this is an astronomy group not politics -
again - your'e reading way too much into my post...

If knowing the sky isn't important to you then what are you doing in the

hobby, well other than showing off how much you
can spend.

1. As previously stated - I mostly view alone - no one to show off to (and
quite frankly -as you inferred - it would be moronic to "show-off" a 9 1/4)
I guess if I were to show-off, it would'nt be my scope - but again, not my
style to show-off... On the few occasions I view with others in our
astronomy group, there are quite a few better/bigger scopes than mine and
quite a few dobs of medium to small size with expert star-hoppers and, you
know what - we all get along fine - I respect and admire their talents and
preference for doing it the hard-way - I just choose to try to get there
quicker and enjoy the view (I actually had a C8 for 5 1/2 years so I may
have exaggerated my lack of star-hopping ability - but it was never a part I
really enjoyed - why would that bother you?)
2. I like the sights - how I get there isn't important to me - and why that
really matters to you escapes me...

Stick with you beer , broads, football, and low life church and everyone

will be happy.
Um...again, I'm not sure were you get this...
1. I occasionly drink a few beers
2 I actually do like football - not sure why that is bad...
3. My "broads" don't exist
4. I do not belong to a church (but not sure why your'e implying that would
be a bad thing - I sense anger here)
5. Everyone will not be happy

You won't have to trouble your poor brain over questions about the

universe and the possibility that it isn't all about you!
Actually, my poor brain does not feel troubled, I read (and mostly
understand - higher education and all:-) many books dealing with the planets
and the universe - extensive collection (and no, I don't try to impress the
"chicks" with my astronomy book collection). I guess I'm more of an
armchair astronomer - is that bad also?
And no, I fully realize it is not all about me - but again, not sure were
you got that from...

Mike

Who will soon buy the Celestron CGE 11 (as soon as my wife says it's

ok:-)
Oh mommy may I buy a new telescope?

Again, it's about respecting my wife and bringing her in on large decisions
(and yes, $4,000-$5,000 is a lot of money to pay for a scope - at least in
my house-hold)

You have issues my man - but I don't hate you - I just don't understand
you - but, that's ok.

Mike

PS. If you feel the need to respond - respect the group and do so
privately - but I would appreciate if you would try to keep the profanity
out of it...
