While seismic activity is not new to this region of the country, tremors are always a shock to residents. On this occasion, many, in the middle of watching the Cuban Baseball League All-Star Game, quickly ran out of their homes. Maj. The tremor was felt in all of Cuba’s eastern provinces from Camaguey to Guantanamo. Early information said no injuries or material damage was reported in the province of Santiago de Cuba. The event had Santiago residents recalling he last major earthquake that took place 75 years ago on February 3.
