It's all light pollution, BEERTbrain!

I'm sad to say it's your eyes that a getting older, and polution might also
be some of the problem if you mean lightpolution but where i live we can se quite a show every year with up to 100 or more every hour if there is no clouds (not polution), thats in november not august, in august it's only from 5 - 40 every hour that is excatly the same show as i can remember from my childhood I don't think you need to go back 65 years in the states to find a spectacular shooting star show, remember 2001 ? Reality is I can't lay on my back,and get up any more by myself. Also
light pollution,and dirt in the air has made the atmosphere less transparent. Here in Florida even a bright Moon looks milky. There are no $100,000 telescopes in Florida. We do have fire flies,and that begs the question. If you are in a forest can you be sure its a shooting star,or a fire fly in your line of view? The dust density in the solar system is getting less over time. and that is a "fact" Bert |
