This USED to be an OK newsgroup, but it's turned into a breeding ground for
every kook that has ever found usenet and so many are cross posted too.

As for newsgroups Sci.Am.Astro is far better and has a far lower level of
kooks. Then there are many e-mail lists for Astronomy where kooks are given
the boot if they could even figure out how to get on.

I hang around to answer any questions from newbies that look legit. The
twittering one posts that dominate the group appears to be from some sort of
program or bot that someone is experimenting with. Your use of the killfile
or just plain ignoring the trash is the best procedure. You are best to
follow starlord's suggestion.
