Strange goings on, under this message and attached to it are a bunch of
messages about a camera and stacking images. Strange. "Starlord" wrote in message ... I attended RTMC on Sunday and it was a ghost town!! Meade, Celestron, and 90
percent of the vendors had packed up and left either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. It is really too bad that everyone jams on Sunday morning. I did attend a few good seminars that made the trip worthwhile. The weather was perfect. I do not know about the seeing conditions as I did not stay overnight. -mij "Starlord" wrote in message ... This doesn't sound like anything new. It's been going on for years that the Big
Vendors pack things up on Saturday night or Sunday morning and head back into town. The Big Crowd is usually Friday and Saturday, so it makes some sense that the Big Vendors try and head back into town for their employees to enjoy one day of the Memorial Day weekend. Not every employee of a telescope making firm is into amateur Astronomy. --- Dave -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinprick holes in a colorless sky Let inspired figures of light pass by The Mighty Light of ten thousand suns Challenges infinity, and is soon gone "Mij Adyaw" wrote in message news:TOKne.44$tr.22@fed1read03... ... Haven't seen any reports about how it was this year? of did they all get blown away by the winds? The weather was clear and calm on Friday night, with some cirrus clouds on Saturday night, and clear but windy on Sunday night. The Keynote Speakers, Todd and Robin Mason, gave a very impressive talk on Hale and the construction of the 200-inch telescope, based on their upcoming PBS documentary. Portions of it were in 3-D. Meade showed off their new RCX400 telescopes and Series 5000 eyepieces. Chris Butler showed a hilarious and very well-done _Star Wars_-based video, titled "Episode XXXVII: Assault of the Goto," which featured binoculars and Newtonian telescopes disguised as fighter spacecraft and capital ships of the Telrad Knights battling the sinister Lord Goto and his dark blue, stubby-tubed robot telescopes. We saw a 3 minute preview of Chris' video at the OCA May meeting. He'll
be showing the whole thing at the June meeting next week. As I missed it at RTMC I can't wait to see the whole thing. Craig In article , says... "Starlord" wrote in message ...
