A particularly politically incorrect quote from the 1950's, Mr. Jones:
"Senator Joseph McCarthy is guilty of accusing individuals of being
communists...who are later found to _be_ communists."
And a particularly surprising rejoinder from myself: "Robert Mosley is
guilty of accusing individuals of being assholes...who are later found
to _be_ assholes."

McCarthy is a near perfect analog, I think. In McCarthy's
case many of his allegations were correct, and many of his
goals worthwhile (although he also targeted gays, which I
disagree with). However, his methods and tactics were
entirely inappropriate and ended up damaging anti-communist
efforts much, much more than any communist could have ever
managed on their own.

...Really? Considering the s/n ratio of that group, how the **** can
you tell?

And what about the s/n ration of OM.*? Many reports indicate
it is very unsatisfactory.

....Yeah, but most of those reports are from those responsible for the
poor s/n ratio of that group. Ergo, their opinions don't count.

Consider the bias of those making the reports.

Someone on the Yahoo Space-modlers group mentioned that Energia
pictures
of a Klipper mockup have been posted to the web. Here is the URL they
gave.

I love the shuttle, and other hardware, in the background.

Nice pictures, Rusty! It is very interesting to see the views of the
highbay the mockup Klipper is being assembled in; particularly those
interesting views of what appears to be one of the high fidelity Buran
shuttle orbiter mockups.

Nice find, Rusty! It's good to finally get some decent shots of the thing.
I stumbled on some photos of the TU-130 spaceplane or MARV what's-it a
couple of weeks ago this dated from the late 50's-early 60's:
http://www.sergib.agava.ru/russia/tupolev/130/130.htm
....as well as the Tu-136 Soviet Dyna-Soar program clone:

If you've done that, you've missed a lot of productive discussions.
Just like s.s.h, the s/n ration can get awful bad, but there is gold
there.
