Default Nebula Filters?

Dave...

I found this site. I think it's what we're both looking for:

What are the best filters for viewing nebula? It seems every time I look
throough my C8 at a nebula, I can see it. I know I'm in the right

position
since I'm using a GOTO mount.

Thanks!

You could write a book on this subject, but here's the short and much
distilled answer to your question...

There are several nebula types, requiring more than one filter to see all of
them under ideal conditions. The largest number of nebula which many of us
view come under the heading of emission nebula. It's my experience that the
Orion UltraBlock and/or the O111 are about the best for viewing this type
of nebula. I would suggest that you start with one of these filters. One
other caution: Best viewing results come under dark skies during periods of
a tranquil atmosphere. If you are viewing under light polluted skies, this
type of filter offers little if any help.
