Default Just a quick update on OM...

....For those wondering why I've been rather quiet the past week or so,
last Saturday morning I suffered a bit of a gastrophoresis attack -
nausea, uncontrollable vomiting, bad sweats, *no* diarrhea - and wound
up having to get EMS'd as I couldn't maintain stability enough to get
into the wheelchair. They got it under control and released me Sunday
night, but Monday morning it hit again almost as bad. This time I was
able to get their with some control, and wound up getting faster
service because they hadn't totally logged me out of the system yet!
Anyway, by Wednesday morning they'd finally gotten a handle on the
situation, if not the cause, and let me go that afternoon. I'm still
not totally back on my foot, and have doubled my regolin dosage to
keep the stomach in check, but so far I'm holding up.

....Now, here's the fun part: what totally threw them off was that when
the ER doc looked at my past history, the first thing he figured was
"ok, fat guy, type 2 diabetes, just pump him full of phenagrin and a
shot of morphine and send him home...*after* you get the blood sugar
down, just to teach the fat **** a lesson!" However, when the finger
stick showed a sugar level of 121, the quack realized that something
*else* was going on. The same thing happened the second time around,
only the sugar was 135. What they suspect now is that my stomach end
of the nervous system got knocked out of whack by four days of diet
change and fasting to accommodate some blood chemistry tests my new
primary care quack ordered up for me. All those were completed on
Friday, and I'd had one fairly substantial but balanced meal the night
before all hell broke loose.

So what's the bottom line moral of all this? Damned if you do, damned
if you don't, so just eat what the **** you want because no matter
what it is, it's still gonna **** you over so you'd better just enjoy
it while you can...:-P :-P
