Default Ed Conrad an Internet KOOK - But Only to Sleazeballs of Science.....

Stew Dean wrote to talk.origins on Friday, Oct. 31, 2003
(this response is better late than never):

Who is Ed Conrad, and why do so many people have so much
to say about him?

Ed Conrad is a Internet Kook who has some very strange ideas.
He is not a creationist but does not accept evolution. For some
reason he found a few concretions that looked a bit like human
and animal remains and when he asked for an expert opinion
he was told they were not fossils. When he asked if they would
double-check they laughed and refused as they where very sure.
Ed didn't understand this and has not understood much about
the whole thing since.

Why? That's open to debate.

Also open to debate is how to deal with him. Most people take
the sensible root of ignoring him. Some choose to engage him,
or at least try and make him look foolish. Again the effect of
replying to him is debatable although I personally now side with
the 'ignore him' camp having realized what waste of time replying
to Ed is.

He does like being talked about though. I think we view him like
some would view a member of a freak show.

"Any suggestion that scientists
so dearly love truth, that they
have not the slightest hesitation
in jettisoning their beliefs, is
a mean perversion of the facts."
I. Bernard Cohen
(professor of history and science
at Harvard University)

as stated in "The Velikovsky Affair:
The Warfare Between Science and Scientism"

Responded Ed to Stew Dean's sarcastic posting:

You're totally wrong in your assessment, Stew.

The bottom line is that I have brought to light the incredible
deceit, deception, collusion and conspiracy that exists
in your Scientific Establishment concerning your non-search
for physical evidence that your theory of man's evolution
is totally wrong.

State-of-the-art testing HAS been performed on some of these
specimens -- confirming they ARE petrified bone, teeth and
even soft organs (some human) -- found between anthracite
veins, but the monumental conspiracy against truth remains
adamant in its denial.
