Right! And he is repenting of it now in a very hot place....

You disagree with 450 Christian Churches. How large of you.

Who says they are Christian? You?

They do. It's obvious that non-fundies are far more Christian (e.g.
following the example of Jesus) than the likes of you. And they don't
have a problem with evolution, since the evidence shows that's the way
life came here. Who are you to argue with how God (or the Universe, or
whatever) did it?

Well, there *is* the Bible! It says one thing, and many of those
Christian churches you speak of say other things.

For example, they support equal rights for homosexuals. It might seem
that we shouldn't persecute people for being different, but that might
just be "the way that seemeth right" - because the Bible says that God
detests this sort of behavior.

Of course, people might look upon the Bible as simply a collection of
ancient documents, and not having the sort of inviolable authority that
comes with being the Word of God. But if they do *that*, what makes the
Bible so much more important than the Quran or the Bhagavad-Gita that
they go around and still ask people to come to a church on Sunday that
calls itself Christian?

Fundamentalist Christianity may be *wrong*, but at least it's obviously
consistent. After all, Jesus Himself said that Adam and Eve were real
persons, and said that He had not come to change any of the laws in the
Old Testament. So it is unclear how a liberal church, even if it does
admire those of Jesus' teachings that make sense to almost everyone,
like the Sermon on the Mount, can support making any sort of
supernatural claims.
