Today was the vernal equinox.
According to my understanding, this is a day on which the sun rises and sets approximately due east and west and takes approximately 12 hours to make that trip. But Starry Night pro and a couple other databases tell me that Sol rose at approx. 05:55 and set at approx. 18:04. The closest to a 12-hour day was on March 16. My intuitive sense of this is that latitude should not be a factor. Am I wrong in that assumption?
