I'm a citizen of the great country that _invented_ the concept of revolution by the radical left. And thank you for not calling me a liberal! The right-wing extremists who hold power in this country have pushed me so far to the left that I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Trotsky and Lenin, both of whom I have long admired, might have, in fact, been Reagan Republicans. Well, I guess that leaves it pretty clear where you are coming from. I'm surprised you could consider supporting Gore or Kerry. They are pretty middle of the road, really. I suspect Kerry would do little to change what Bush has done -- he just would not be as up-front and abrasive in doing it (e.g., another Clinton). Given your characterizaton above, the only main-stream American politician of the past century I could see aligned even remotely with your ideas is Henry Wallace -- and that would be quite a stretch. Phil Actually, if he wants to align himself with a current "functioning" government of his ilk, he (Davoud) needs to take a trip south to Florida and keep going until he hits the water line. At that point, jump in a boat and set a course to the southwest. When he gets to the first beach (the one with a bearded old man in a military uniform holding an AK47), he has found his new home. He may already be there. From above he said: I'm a citizen of the great country that _invented_ the concept of revolution by the radical left. That cannot be the US .. since it is hard to consider Washington, Jefferson, et al -- many of whom were slave-owning landed aristrocacy -- as "the radical left". Nor would Danton, Murat and Robespierre qualify. So maybe Davoud *is* refering to such as Fidel and Che and lives in Cuba. Phil |
