Does anyone know of an affordable 2" crayford focuser? JMI's NGF-DX3 is
$159, and that is a lot for me. Their RCF (Reverser Crayford) is $99 ($79 in a kit). $79 is more my style, but its an extra $20 for the 1.25" adapter, so I'm back up to $99. Does anyone know if the RCF is any good? Even cheaper would be better, I guess I'm looking at $50-$75. I have no mechanical skills to build one. I want it to replace the crappy plastic rack & pinion on my 8" Meade Dob. I would prefer to do it without having to change the location of the focuser or secondary, so a longer draw tube will probably be neded too. Any suggestions? thanks bob |
