Abuse of my e-mail-address by a computer infected with the Sober.H virus

It is a common problem. No one with any clue would think that the spam
came from you.

I am not sure if viruses that spread virus-free (!) spam mails
are already common. At least to me this concept is rather
new.

Besides at least some of those spam mails contain radical
political opinions that are illegal in Germany.
Police already started investigations because of those
e-mails.

Reactions on discussing groups about computer-software show
that even after this fact was published yesterday some
experienced computer users who read the explanation of the virus
(http://www.bsi.de/av/vb/soberh.htm) given by the BSI
(an organization like CERT) or a news article
about it at least believe that people who appear as
a sender would be infected and made a mistake.
Some even thought that the "senders" of those e-mails
wrote them.

Because such a spam-mail producing virus is probably not
well known and because of the content of the mails the
BSI yesterday published a new press release about this virus:

(unfortunately only in German).

In fact a local organization who had the same problem
published a similar disclaimer yesterday in newspapers
and even on TV.
