I love it!
Tonight on Turner Classic Movies: They not only air the classic air disaster parody "Airplane" but the film that inspired it, as well as another early "plane in trouble" picture! First up it is "The Crowded Sky," a classic featuring Dana Andrews on a propeller airliner in trouble in the days when jets and props shared a crowded sky! Then up, the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker classic "Airplane" with RObert Hays trying to conquer his fears and save the say on a stricken jetliner. Last up? The movie that inspired the writers of "Airplane" itself, the air disaster film "Zero Hour." All three air back-to-back-to-back tonight! Yes, I am serious! (And don't call me Shirley.) |
