Default Map of the Universe

I can remember reading somewhere that the universe (or some part of it) was
mapped and the resulting "picture" they had was human-like. I think I heard
that two men did this, I can't remember their names.

Does anyone know of this or where I might get a picture of their map?

I have tried google, to no avail.

Thanks for any help.

No Such true thing. The Coble Satillite mapped the MWBG that's left over
from the Big Bang and newer ones have done an even better job and nowhere is
there any "Human" like form. The nearest thing is a map that comes from a
very deep sky survey where they have mapped about 2 degrees of the largest
object in space, the Great Wall which is made up of millions of galaxys
sprading across the sky and if you take one small part of it, you can kind
of make a stickman figure out of it, but the same thing can be done with any
road map of any major city. So it means nothing.

I saw the whole thing printed out, millions and millions of galaxys and it's
only about 2% or less of the sky and they zoomed down to one section and it
had a kind of stick figure look to it. But the overall thing is like a super
massive bridge.

Mat I would think if you could remember and locate where all the
constillations are that would be your best map. Mat your asking for a
map of the heavens begs the question "Where are you going?" I myself
can only find two constellations The big and little dippers Bert

Those are the two names I was forgetting, Huchra and Geller.

One minor correction, BEERTbrain: The Big and Little Dippers are NOT
constellations, but asterisms. The Big and Little Bears (Ursa Major
and Minor) are constellations.
