Default STS-1 & Corned Beef

This was in the STS-1 post-flight debriefing, and I thought it might
amuse some:

YOUNG: Well, if nothing else, [the food warmer] helped your morale
some, I think.

CRIPPEN: We even heated up the corned beef - hot corned beef. So that's
a big plus.

YOUNG: The chow has really improved since Gemini III, I'll say that.

I make no comment, really...

[Shortly afterwards they comment on the video recorder; Young bitches
about it only recording for half an hour, you can get off-the-shelf ones
that run for six. Abbey, who I assume is George Abbey, seems very
surprised by this... the consumer-electronics problem is endemic]

I remember reading years ago, that the original "Gemini 3 Corned Beef
Sandwich"® was preserved in plexiglass (although missing a couple of
bites) and sat in a place of honor on Youngs desk.

None necessary, not in this ng anyway

It could have been the lack-of-funds problem

By now it's probably evolved to the point of being able to demand a pay
rise.
