What's your favorite software for sky charting and controlling the LX200?
Hi: There are many...you should see my hard drive. ;-) But one of the best? Cartes du Ciel. It's free, does everything many folks will ever need, and is free: http://www.stargazing.net/astropc/ Used in conjunction with ASCOM, it will drive your Meade (or most other scopes) very well indeed. Yes, I have Cartes du Ciel and I do like it. Although, I do like scope
control features from Autostar. Is it possible to hook up a web cam so I can run the scope remotely and still see some images? I'm wanting to sit in my warm house, as compared to the 10 degress outside, and slew the scope around and view things. Once I see something I like I'll either go to the scope for viewing or use my camera remotly to take pictures. ![]() |
