Where I was going with this was considering the possibility of transfer to Soyuz *outside* the station, via its side hatch. You know, in case it was impossible to get in via the pressurized hatch. AFAIK, the side hatch/orbital module of Soyuz isn't set up to support EVA's. (At one time you could, but I doubt that feature has been retained.) And how do you end up with a closed hatch at the top, and no pressure in the module so you can enter it from the side? D. -- Touch-twice life. Eat. Drink.
