Really? I am amazed at how you mis-state things to make
it fit your ideas of what should be. According to you,
there is no tendency for a body spinning around me on a
string to continue in a straight line, so if i let go
of the string it will continue circling around me?
weird! very weird. I think you need to back to grade school

The tennis ball on a string was just an analogy used in "grade school" Eric.
In real life the planets are not attached to a string and swung around in a
circle. Before you go attacking someone else perhaps you should first get
yourself out of "grade school" and realize things are not always so simple.
Simple minded explanations for simple minded people. One Physicist explained
it as fluid dynamics which is not the same as mechanical.
