Hi all, my daughter has got into star gazing. i was wondering if there are
any good computer programs out to help her along.

Try the evaluation version of SkyMap Pro 9 at this link;

Or try Cartes du Ciel at this link;

http://www.stargazing.net/astropc/download.html

In addition to the suggestions made by George, I recommend Skytools 2
